I find myself regretting why on a sudden emergency impulse bought this last Saturday at SM Megamall. It cost more than my Paul & Joe dual powder foundation refill and a NARS’s blush-on!

Shiseido Eyebrow and Eyeliner Compact in BL2.

With my newly re-shape eyebrow which left me a little high-strung due to fact I told the girl not to reshape it thin but she did. Grrr! I end up on the first floor of SM Megamall scouting for eyebrow powder.

Only two shades available: Deep Brown and Light Brown.

Funny how Christmas does to sales. Some don’t have tester (so no point looking if you can’t see the actual product to try on), some are surprisingly out of stock, while others didn’t last long enough after rubbing a bit and some are chalky which ends up on your eye and cheeks.

This was the best among I’ve tried and wasn’t able to try the other shade available which I’m regretting it now. Looking at longer term use, I might find this shade use sparingly once I get my eyebrows back at in full-bush glory.

By the way, did you spot something missing here? I did. Let me answer you that later.

Taken near sunlight, don’t be fooled this is dark in actual.

It was only when I was rode on the bus onward to Cubao that hell and damnation! I should have checked Laura Mercier at Rustan’s first before making any purchase!  Ohhh! How dummy I can be. I say, regrets don’t come cheap indeed. 😦

Two shade of brown taken near sunlight.

If you are not too careful, you can end up with a hideous thick colored eyebrow like Frida Kahlo which the girl did applied on my brows and my mom commenting something like: “You look… ferocious” in a very scary way.

Can you now see the shades clearly?

I find the dark brown-black too harsh while the mud chocolate-brown just enough. I believe I will end up using more of the lighter shade than the dark one. I already have an eye liner so this shade isn’t much of use to me. A pity.

If applied too heavily, I suggest lightly buffing it with Bobbi Brown eye shadow in Bone which I just did yesterday afternoon for a wedding. The results were splendid.

This over priced, expensive product comes with a cheap dual brush and sponge applicator. I wish they could give more value for the money you spend on this.

The brush is stiff and rough, though the sponge is soft. Still, you need to use the brush more often the sponge right??

This was manufactured in 2010. That’s more than 1 year in the stock room.

And me being me, I forgot to ask and check the manufacturing date. I was antsy to get home and hit the couch since my back was already hurting from walking around despite in flat shoes. Imagine my horror when I finally get to thoroughly check the product.

This is why I hate buying permanent collections in the Philippines. Replenishment is so low, you don’t know if they’re old or new stock unless indicated.

Still missing something…

Returning to my question awhile ago, did you see what’s missing in this box and product?  The open jar icon.

I keep looking for it but there was none printed. Laura Mercier has this icon printed on her box and actual product label. This icon is supposed to give you a ballpark figure how long the product can last once open and I don’t believe products such as this no matter how high quality they are last forever.

How strange for such an international brand to missed this such small detail leaves me scratching my head. There’s even no instruction if this can be for wet application. And please don’t tell me common sense since these are standard precautionary measurement use to protect consumer rights to know.

Sigh. One can only regret much and move on and make an opportunity over such regret. With my newly re-shape eyebrows, I’ll be using this product more often for a couple of months from now on.

Is it worth it?
No. But if you prefer this brand, buy abroad. It cheaper, around USD30 and exchange rate today is $1 = PHP 44.130

Will I buy Again?
No. It’s very expensive. Check out other brands like Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown or Stila just in case.
